Albion Maple Ridge – A Monochrome Vision of Elegance

This project was deeply satisfying because it grew out of trust, collaboration, and clarity. From the very beginning, I felt I understood exactly what my clients wanted—and together, we achieved a home that is refined, tailored, and deeply personal. Their happiness with the results is what makes this project one of my most rewarding experiences.

The Client’s Vision

During one of our first meetings, I asked the client a simple question:

  • “What colors do you like?” Her response was precise:
  • “I like brass and black.”
  • “I don’t like colors.”
  • “I want monochromes.”
  • “No wood. Lots of wood. Please, no.”
  • “I love stone. I love classy.”

These clear preferences became the foundation of the design concept

The Design Approach

The palette leaned toward grays, blacks, brass, and stone, avoiding unnecessary ornamentation but embracing texture, depth, and detail. To prevent the monochrome look from feeling flat, I played with:

  • Velvety finishes to bring richness and warmth.
  • Patterns on rugs, cushions, and wallpapers for subtle energy.
  • Black accents across cabinetry, lighting, and styling pieces for contrast and sophistication.

Every line was kept clean and simple, while every detail was curated with intention—from cutlery and flatware to china and glassware. The result was a home where every element spoke the same language of elegance.

Custom Craftsmanship

Approximately 80% of the project was custom-designed, created specifically for the client’s lifestyle and needs:

  • Living Room, Cabinetry & Storage – sleek, functional, and enhanced with textures and finishes to elevate utility into design.
  • Master Bedroom – a luxurious retreat with chandeliers, custom wallpaper, and bespoke furnishings.
  • Home Office – moody, intimate, and meticulously organized. Hidden printer storage, filing solutions, and a sliding barn door kept the space functional while maintaining a cohesive aesthetic.

The Result

This project demonstrates how precision in design can lead to a space that is both functional and deeply personal. By layering materials, balancing patterns, and curating every detail, I created a home that reflects my clients’ refined tastes—a monochrome masterpiece of elegance, comfort, and character.
