Interior design studio · Metro Vancouver
Interior design shaped around how you live
We design homes and workplaces across Metro Vancouver, taking a project from first concept through drawings, specification and installation.
We turn houses into homes, and offices into places people want to be.
Ment is a Coquitlam studio working across Metro Vancouver on residential, commercial and institutional interiors. Every project starts with how a space will be used day to day, then works outward to material, light and colour.
The studio takes a project from first concept through drawings, specification and installation, and stays involved until the space is finished.

The founder
Julieta Diaz
Coquitlam-based interior designer with more than 14 years of experience and over 40 projects across Canada and Mexico, working on residential, commercial and corporate interiors.
I believe a good interior designer listens first. My role is not to impose my style, it is to understand how you live and what you need, then guide you toward a space that feels authentically yours.

Ask about your areaQuestions we get asked
What does an interior designer do?
A designer plans how a space works before deciding how it looks. That means layout, circulation, lighting, storage and millwork first, then finishes, colour and furniture. On a renovation or new build it also means drawings and specifications the trades can build from.
How much does interior design cost in Metro Vancouver?
It depends on scope. A single-room refresh, a full-home renovation and a new build from the floor plan stage are very different pieces of work. We scope each project and quote it before anything starts, so there is no open-ended hourly commitment.
Do you work on new builds as well as renovations?
Yes, and new builds are best started early. Coming in at the floor plan stage means lighting, storage and millwork can be resolved before framing, which is far cheaper than changing them later.
Do you take on commercial projects?
Yes. Alongside residential work the studio has completed office, institutional and community interiors, including a school and a community centre.
Which areas do you serve?
The studio is based in Coquitlam and works across Metro Vancouver, including Vancouver, North Vancouver, Burnaby, Surrey, Langley and Maple Ridge. Projects further afield are considered case by case.
What happens at the first meeting?
We talk through the space, how you use it, what is not working and what the budget needs to cover. You leave with a clear view of the scope, the likely stages and what the studio would recommend doing first.
