Wescot Elementary School

This is a School located in North Vancouver district, inclusion and teamwork are the main part of their mission. Their mission was the focal point for me to develop the concept. The concept that I came up with were the Northern Lights, Why? because for this phenomenon to happen has to exist a combination of earth and universe elements to create this beautiful effect on the sky and for me that was the key.

The existing Library is the hart of the school and I decided to make it unique, appealing and inviting. So the library, the ESL Classroom (English as a Second Language) and the Counselor room to be connected with an amazing slide and staircase that can be used as an informal and petite auditorium.

The classrooms with floorings full of colour and movement with light furniture so the kids are able to move it by themselves. Materials like carpet tile, linoleum, corks.

The hallways with features elements like colorful wayfinding so the kids are able to find their classrooms, reading niches, and storage for the teachers outside their classrooms.
